Inspiring the Next Generation of Global Visual Artists
London International Art Academy is dedicated to developing the creative voices of youth as they grow before stepping into higher education and the professional industry. We believe in visual art as a therapeutic sanctuary to decompress from study stress, and as an empowering medium to articulate boundless imagination.

Our Vision & Guiding Mission
London International Art Academy was founded to accompany emerging talents from their formative years, building creative courage and emotional balance long before they step into the competitive art world.
Building an Unbounded Bridge for International Art Exchange
To build an unbounded bridge for international art exchange, inspiring the minds and imaginations of the next generation of global youth creators, and leading emerging young artistic talents to express themselves with confidence on the world contemporary art stage.
Discovering Diverse Potential
Through inclusive, forward-looking youth initiatives, we encourage children and adolescents to break conventions, embrace experimentation, and explore the infinite possibilities of visual creation.
Connecting Global Frontiers
Partnering with top British arts institution scholars, senior adjudicators, and contemporary artists to provide young creators with gallery exposure and meaningful dialogue with practicing educators.
Setting Milestones for Growth
Building students’ creative confidence through rigorous academic feedback and official credentials, guiding every emerging artist along their long-term academic and creative maturation.
Art as Therapy: Releasing Academic Stress & Calming the Mind
In today's fast-paced educational environment, young students carry mounting pressures from standardized examinations and structured schooling. At LIAA, we believe the canvas provides a rare, non-judgmental sanctuary where youth can decompress, recalibrate, and channel tension into beauty.
Mindful Decompression
Tactile mark-making, watercolor flow, and charcoal textures slow down racing thoughts, providing an organic restorative escape from exam pressures.
Emotional Articulation
Enabling young people to express complex emotions that cannot always be verbalized—translating anxiety, wonder, and identity into form and color.
Self-Belief & Freedom
Replacing rigid classroom rubrics with creative agency. There are no mistakes in art—only discoveries that reinforce genuine self-worth.
Holistic Balance
Harmonizing analytical study habits with expressive visual thinking, nurturing resilient minds equipped for the challenges of adolescence.
Art is not an extracurricular luxury; it is an essential human lifeline. For a young student bearing the weight of study, a blank sheet of paper is an invitation to breathe freely.

Nurturing Creators From Play to Professional Practice
How LIAA supports visual creators from early childhood intuition through pre-college portfolio mastery and lifelong independent adult practice.
Intuition & Discovery
Cultivating sensory curiosity through spontaneous mark-making, tactile clay handling, and vibrant color blending. We celebrate instinctual creativity without imposing rigid adult conventions.
Narrative & Identity
Helping students craft individual narratives, understand visual composition, and connect their inner emotions to broader societal and natural themes like harmony and coexistence.
Pre-College Portfolio
Guiding adolescents through rigorous portfolio development, critical contextual studies, and university entrance preparation (e.g. UAL, RCA foundation, international BFA), paired with art as emotional stress decompression.
Contemporary Practice
Providing university students, self-taught creators, and emerging adult practitioners with an open international platform for ambitious conceptual projects, jury critique, and Central London gallery curation.
LIAA × New Horizons: International Youth Drawing Competition
As part of our mission to celebrate emerging artistic talent, London International Art Academy collaborates annually with New Horizons. Open to youth creators as well as emerging adult artists in the Open Group (19+), LIAA provides the official British academic adjudication panel and co-curates the London gallery exhibition showcase.
Exploring balance, emotional serenity, natural coexistence, and personal visual interpretations.
Independent adjudication across 6 groups: Little Sparks (3–4), Doodlers (5–7), Junior (8–10), Youth (11–13), Advanced (14–18), and an Open Group welcoming creators aged 19 and above.
Every entry is evaluated by scholars from the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins across creativity, composition, and media application.
6–8 February 2027 at The Handbag Factory Gallery, Vauxhall, culminating in an in-person Gala Reception.
Registration, submission uploads, and entry details are administered directly on the New Horizons portal.
